About Me

I am of Taiwanese descent, and was born in the mountainous desert of Salt Lake City. Since then I have lived in Guangzhou China, Providence RI (where I received a BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design), Los Angeles, and I currently reside in Seattle. Since childhood I have had a passion for art, animals & nature, and all things weird. I love making things with my hands, being outdoors for long periods of time, as well as being cozy at home with my two cats, Duke & Baby Kitty.

Passions

I have too many hobbies and interests, having dabbled in or frequently engaging in: knitting & crocheting, sewing, cross stitch & embroidery, miniature painting, 3D modeling, laser cutting, ceramics, basket weaving, risography, lithography, intaglio, lino block printing, letterpress printing, bookbinding, paper making, painting (watercolor, gouache, acrylic), taxidermy, video games, tabletop gaming (board and role playing), foraging, camping, backpacking, cooking, rockhounding, gardening, and fermenting.

My Tarot Journey

Although I am a tarot artist, I am pretty new to tarot. I mostly find myself doing single card readings to accompany my journaling, but my favorite tarot moments are during sleepovers or getaways with friends, performing tarot readings for each other late at night that often result in a lot of tears and hugs. My tarot shelf is becoming more and more crowded; I just can't resist supporting other artists and getting to add a miniature gallery of their beautiful work to my collection.

I began illustrating my first oracle deck in 2018, called The Adventurer's Tarot, which combined my passion for tarot, illustration, and tabletop roleplaying games into one deck. The Adventurer's Tarot won an ENNIE award in 2021 for 'Best RPG Related Product.' As a multi-passionate person, I wanted to explore and try something new for my next project in terms of genre and style. Since the Adventurer's Tarot wasn't a true tarot but an oracle deck, I wanted to create a Rider-Waite deck next, so in 2020 I began sketching and concepting for a cyberpunk fantasy world seen through a Tarot deck.

Eldritch Overload // Cyberpunk Fantasy Tarot Deck

The Eldritch Overload Tarot combines a cyberpunk fear of the techno-future with colorful fantasy themes. Although the cards are bright and colorful, they hide sinister stories and bleak outlooks. This deck is harsh and direct, but also sympathetic and encouraging. The illustrations are both extremely relatable and wonderful. It is a modern and futuristic take on the traditional Rider Waite tarot.

It took three years of dedicated work to illustrate the deck, as well as collaborating with writers and patrons, until the Eldritch Overload Tarot finally materialized. I'm very proud of my creations, but I'd like to take a break and explore other projects before embarking on another tarot journey!

Follow along on my social media to see what shows and conventions I will be attending, or support my work on Patreon! I offer a monthly tarot pull from one of my decks, which includes a signed card and handwritten reading. If you are in Seattle and interested in learning more about digital design, risograph, or whatever else, I sometimes teach workshops and classes at Reclaim Clay Collective, a POC, queer, and women-owned pottery and art studio in the Chinatown/International District.
